The Pete Speer home, now (1965) 612 Upper Mountain Ave, for a time this was � the Sportsman�s Hotel,� Pete Speer proprietor. Pete�s friend Bow Quinn also lived here. The two men were town characters, known to everyone. The hotel attached hunters to the neighborhood. In the basement there was a saloon, entered by the basement door. The bar was still in place recently, and used privately as such, when Curtis and Edna Foote Campaign owned and occupied the house in the 1950�s. The house used to be called �the crows� nest�
